Alumna Katie Godowski ’12 is an NYC-based, up-and-coming freelance photographer. Katie’s high-quality, creative images capture portraits in action and cityscapes. Her work has been featured in New York Magazine and Sausalito Community Magazine. She is also the 2020 winner of the B&H Photo Video “Optic All-Stars” photography contest.
Katie started photographing at the age of twelve. She attended Landmark College’s Summer High School Program in 2009, further enhancing her talent. She continued developing her skill though her college career at Landmark, graduating with her A.A. and moving on to Mitchell College to earn a B.A. She credits her passion to the mentorship from Landmark College professors Jennifer Morris and retired professor Tom Kosiba. She uses photography to express herself, as public speaking can be scary.
Katie sees her work in photography as activism and is a strong believer in photography’s role in social reform. Her work traces the earliest instances of photographic activism through to today’s emerging practices, profiling the grass roots of activists of our time and she hopes to capture the legendary history we are living right now. https://katiegodowski.com/
